Ahh...unfortunately mine is the voice of experience and we discharged over 15 patients before coming to the conclusion the hospital lab test was dead wrong even though they assured us their dipstick test picked up hydrocodone. Of couse it would have picked up hydrocodone if the patient had taken 200 tablets in the past 24 hours but for routine patient meds, it was useless.
