Has anyone gotten in with a sGPA lower than 3.0?
I only have one semester left and can only go to a 2.97- After this I can't afford college anymore.

Can you possibly shell out $300-$400 for a community college course or for a re-take of a pre-req science course?

Don't pay out of pocket. Enroll in 2 courses (6 credits or more) and apply for a school government loan. That way you'll ensure being above the 3.0.

So if I enrolled in a few classes that would bring up my sGPA and I would be less likely to get screened out applications then?

Effectively, yes. Just retake 1 or 2 classes at a CC to get that cGPA >3.0 and have an above average MCAT (28+). Good ECs, LORs, and applying early are a given, of course.

My cGPA was sitting at a 2.95 before getting A's on 2 retakes from a CC this past summer. I applied soon after and got accepted with a 3.07 cGPA paired with a 30 MCAT.

Thanks so much for responding, it's nice to hear someone's story that did alright after sitting with a <3.0 like me.

Ahh that's terrific to hear.

What's your financial case? Be a degree-seeking student if you need federal loans/grants. If you're non-degree, you'll have to pay out of pocket or through private loans.

Yeah, I have a friend who also retook classes just to get above a 3.0, he had a mid 30 MCAT score. He got into his top DO choice with ease. I don't think any MD school gave him love though.
