I'm not sure what happened to my thread. Hopefully it won't be ther twice.

I've been accepted to AUC and am now considering SGU. SGU's new website lacks a lot of info, such as:

1) What courses are taken each semester
2) # of semesters on Granada
3) # of semesters on St Vincett
4) When we start to get any king of clinical experience

Any info is greatly appreciated. 😱

SGU > AUC

1) prob similar
2) I think its first 4 on grenada
3) 5th on st vincent's
4) I think during the 5th.

I'm not positive since I'm not a SGU student, but lived with one during my step 1 prep and we compared programs from time to time.

Granada is a city in southern Spain.

I'm getting the following out of a booklet SGU sent me. they go by terms that don't correlate with semesters, but go as the following:

Year 1

Term 1 (17 weeks)
gross anatomy
embryology
histology and cell biology
biochemistry
clinical skills

Term 2 (18 weeks)
neuroscience
genetics
immunology
physiology
clinical skills
parisitology

Year 2

Term 3 (6 weeks)
behavioral science
jurisprudence and medical ethics
biostats and epidemiology

Term 4 (18 weeks)
microbiology
advanced clinical skills
pathology
basic and clinical nutrition

Term 5 (6 weeks) (i think this is when you move to St. Vincent)
pathophysiology I
pharmacology I
advanced clinical skills

Term 6 (12 weeks)
pathophysiology II
pharmacology II
advanced clinical skills

Year 3
Terms 7,8,9 - rotations
Year 4
Terms 10,11 - rotations

basically, you spend the first year and a half in grenada, then half a year in st. vincent. i don't think you get much clinical exposure until you get to st. vincent, but i'm sure there is some if you go actively looking for it. hope this helped 🙂
