I have been trying for months now to find a shadow in my area. At first I tried the iLearn program and sent requests to many of the DO's listed on there. I got one response but suddenly stopped replying to any of my emails that I sent to him. When that didn't work, I tried cold calling the clinics around this area (UCSD) to see if they had any DO's available to shadow but all of them were somewhat confused as to why an undergrad would want to shadow and continued to state that the priorities for shadows are ones who are done with college. I am struggling to find a DO to shadow in this area and it would be absolutely great if someone can recommend me one or if anyone has other advice. Thank you in advance.

I work at Naval Medical Center San Diego (Balboa), and I work with a lot of D.O.'s (although none of them use OMM because they are usually specialized, ie surgery, anesthesia, etc.). You should try this hospital, but you would need to find a way to get on the Naval Base. Most of the doc's I work with are extremely nice and more than willing to help individuals out.
