Shadowing a DO vs MD

I will be applying to my state school which is an allopathy school. I'm also applying to an osteopathy school. I have the opportunity to shadow a DO who I know and I was wondering what kind of effect it might have applying to an allopathy school.

Its not a debate about which is a better doctor but does it really matter if I have only shadowed a DO but am applying to an allopathy school? Or should I shadow both?

Shadow them both. It won't matter one lick to the MD or DO schools that you've shadowed both types of physicians. It actually makes you a little more well informed.

either one should be fine. i worked for a DO neurologist and he wrote me an outstanding LOR that i know helped me get into my state MD school.
