i am writing a resume for shadowing opportunity. how does this sound as the objective?

"
Obtain dentist shadowing experience at an active practice environment in order to gain exposure to experience of daily basis of dentistry"

its fine, they will be impressed enough that you took time to write a resume.

sounds a little cheesy and long

You don't need to say "dentist shadowing"... just shadowing is fine, your not gonna shadow the assistant are you? Its already implied that its the dentist your wanting to shadow.

Remove "active practice environment" because... if the office is in business, they are active believe me.

and what does "to gain exposure to experience" mean?..... why not just say "to gain knowledge about the typical working day of a dentist".... or something along those lines. Keep it short and simple.

Don't even bother writing a resume. They know what you want. They don't care what you've done.

Personality goes a LONG way when asking to shadow. Ask for ONE appointment to shadow. Its much easier for them to say yes. Theyre not looking to sign a 6 month contract. Let them know youd like to help by sterilizing instruments/cleaning operatories. If they like you, they'll let you know if you can come back.
