Hi Everyone,
So I was supposed to start shadowing a physician today, but I just got back from an international relief trip and it just completely slipped my mind. Do these physicians have access to AACOMAS to report these types of things? I know it sounds like a ridiculous question, but I was just wondering if the doctors have an agreement or something with AACOMAS to report such incidences if they are listed as AOA physicians.

relax. just contact the doc. aplogize, reschedule.

I agree. These sort of things can happen. Just don't do it again, that would be really bad.

Now would be a good time to get yourself a day planner or start programming your phone calendar, because you're going to need to get organized for your future.

i would say it all depends on the doc. is he someone who is very busy and went through tons of loops to get you there on that day? either way, apologize and be sure to be punctual from here on out.

He's not going to report you to anyone. However, unless you come across as amazing in the rest of your interactions with this physician, I'd think twice before asking him for an LOR.

Just apologize and move on. He's not going to "report" you and I'd be willing to bet he probably also forgot you were going to be there and didn't think twice about it.
