ignore my ignrance but i really wanna know how diff are shelf exams from step2 in terms of format,level of difficulty etc?

I think Shelf exams are harder because they cover more. Step 2 really just gets at the high yield stuff.

yeah, i thought the shelf exams were harder. same format, similar style and wording, but the shelves have more time pressure. i guess i don't know a % correct for step2 but it just didn't seem as bad.

really? wow! I just took the surg shelf and with the exception of about 6-8 questions I thought the test was very fair. If step 2 is similar or even easier that would be great

Has nothing to do with being fair, just the volume of material you need to know. On a boards you are responsible for all specialties so there's no way they could expect you to know as much as you did for the shelf
