I had my interview earlier this week at the Leesburg campus. Anybody else hoping to attend here? How'd you feel about either campuses?

I interviewed at the Shenandoah campus, but am accepted at the Leesburg campus. How was the video conference?

In my personal opinion, it was very awkward, but do able.

I've been in school for about 17 years and every single class that I have ever taken within that time frame was with a teacher up front. Students that were there informed us that although it was "weird" at first, you will eventually get used to it.

Everything else about the Leesburg campus was pretty chill.

Pros: 45 minutes from DC-(great opportunity to do one of the six clinical rotations), lower student class rooms(excluding the video conference)

The only other cons about Leesburg in my opinion other than the video conference is the fact that living expenses is 2 if not 3 times more expensive than the Winchester!

just got the news from SHENANDOAH on the acceptance! anyone else planning on being here?
I'm 99% sure I'll be attending Shenandoah this August...waiting to hear back from a few schools, but almost positive I want to go to Shenandoah no matter what!! Are you accepted to the Winchester campus? (that's where I'll be going)

Waitlist ed number 35.

Any thoughts on Shenandoah v/s Marymount?? Both are great schools...

I'm interviewing this weekend at Marymount...I've heard really good things about their program, but I've also heard they interview a lot of people for not many spots, so I'm not getting my hopes up. I think, for me, if I end up having the choice, it will come down to living in a city vs. a more rural area (and also the cost, because tuition is comparable but cost of living is so much higher in Arlington) ... Also, I don't love that you have to go into DC for cadaver lab at Marymount, it seems like a lot of time might be wasted traveling ...

Is Shenandoah disclosing their wait list rankings? Did they tell you how many people got on the wait list?

Yes, you have to email Dr. turner and request your current position on the wait-list. It might take a few days for him to respond though. Is Shenandoah your top choice? If accepted, I definitely would want to go to Leesburg despite their video conference.

yeah! I like the leesburg campus because it's close to home and closer to the DC area in general. will you be attending shenandoah at leesburg?

Leesburg would be close to my home as well. And I am very interested in the hospital connections that SU has in the area for clinical experience. I have been wait-listed Shenandoah and am hoping for the best response coming in the next months.

SU is absolutely my top choice, and I am especially interested in the Leesburg campus. I really enjoy the area and don't mind that the lectures are video conference. I wonder how long the alternate list is.

Anybody that interviewed will be on the alternate list. They inerviewed 230 applicants for 55-60 seats. So I'm assuming maybe 170 ?

Let me know your position once you fins out! 🙂

Yes, I definitely will. A lot of people have made Shenandoah their top choice this admissions cycle so I'm still thankful to have been wait-listed. I'm glad there are more seats avail than other programs considering the addition of their satellite campus. I didn't know that all interviewees were given alternate status, if not admitted immediately. Thanks for informing me! 🙂

Hey did any of you get any package regarding tuition details etc... post acceptance?

Nothing yet.. was considering contacting them to see what happens next...

I think everyone is, because they need everyone to send their "official transcripts", not just what PTCAS tells them. But I don't think we need to send those until this semester is over...at least I'm not planning to.

And yes. I wish they'd send a packet or something...did you get an email from her this AM about a scholarship?

I got the email about the scholarship.... Really stinks about the minimum GPA/GRE to be eligible for the scholarship. It makes sense it's just disappointing.

How much do they provide In the scholarship and what are the requirements?

$1000/semester every year

3.3 (I think... Can't remember for sure off the top of my head), 152 on verbal and quantitative, and 4.0 writing

has anyone received any packet in the mail regarding tuition info etc. its 3/4 and i have still not received anything...

Nope, haven't gotten anything except an email about a housing list

I actually just received an email from one of the current students because Dr. Bureau connected us, and she sent me a housing packet. I can pass it on if anyone wants it! just PM me your email. I was also wondering if anyone was looking for a roommate? I hear that the rent is cheaper if you split the apartment lol.

If you're going to the Leesburg Campus I can try to answer any questions about the area or housing. I'm having the luxury of attending PT school in my home town, the least I can do is help out my future classmates. Pm me for my email or questions.
Can't wait to meet everyone and start school!

I received a financial aid form detailing what aids I qualify for - Thats it, just a piece of paper that i need to fill out and send back.

I just got notified that I got in to Marymount...I already put the deposit down at Shenandoah, but I liked Marymount's program so much better....

I don't know what I'm going to do!!!
