I got accepted to Jefferson in Philly in January. Jefferson is a nice school, but realized I am not a living-in-a-city person when i visited the campus.
About 5 weeks ago in May, I got an interview invite for shenandoah university. I liked shenandoah once i stepped on campus, but i am on their waitlist. I would rather go to shenandoah than jefferson because of the accreditation status of shenandoah.

For jefferson's requirements, i am currently taking a summer class. If i get into shenandoah, I will not need this class.

Shenandoah is pissing me off now because I contacted their admissions liaison and they said they will make a "final" decision on their waitlist by the end of may, so I waited. That day, i received an e-mail saying they have NOT made a decision about my application, so to wait another week. I understand things happen. A week has gone by and I just contacted them again. They are saying they did not meet like they suppose to and to wait another week. I am really frustrated with this. I am starting to dislike this school. Do you think this is a good representation about the school?

I feel like I should drop from their waitlist, so i can finish the paperwork for jefferson.
OR drop from my summer class and wait for shenandoah's decision.
OR just take the summer class and wait it out. I do not want to waste my time, effort and money on a class if i do get in.

It is so late in the game that I just want to know where I am going to this fall.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Hey man, pretty sure I met you at the Appalachian interview.

I interviewed at both Jefferson and Shenandoah. Like you, I'm also not a city slicker. I didn't care for Philly very much, either.

I actually interviewed just this past weekend at Shenandoah. Totally not impressed. The building looked like a high school. My tour guide was a P1 student from the Ashburn campus, so she knew about as much of the Winchester campus as I did. 🙄
Our "tour" consisted of wandering aimlessly through a few corridors and then concluded with a 20 minute interview with some faculty. I also didn't get a sense of professionalism from the institution.

I'm glad I went there just to see what the place was like. In any case, I will not be accepting their offer if they end up accepting me.

It's possible to live in the surrounding suburbs of Philly if you wanted. Public transportation would suck though. Since you're already taking the summer class, I'd say finish it. Have Jefferson as a back up if you didn't get in anywhere else.

It would be very foolish to make a huge decision based on this alone. Chances are, they are very busy making final decisions and are not just brushing you off for the heck of it.

Wow, from those options, it seems like you really do not want to live in the city. Make your decision wisely; not worth it in my opinion to study in a place that you will hate for 4 years especially with Jefferson's hefty price tag.

I would finish the class no matter what because if you dont get in to shenandoah you will still have jefferson. If you drop the class and dont get into shenandoah you are s.o.l. Remember, its that time for graduation so be patient .
