I have always wanted a nice leather planner. I thought that since I am starting school full time this fall and will have lots of things to do I would finally spring for one. I just took a class at work through Franklin Covey and had a big discount coupon, so I found a planner and matching tote that I liked.

So here is my problem. Turns out that the laptop that I bought on Sunday will not fit into the tote after all. So that leaves me carrying a messager bag for the laptop with the tote. Im pretty sure that will look strange. And Im not sure I wanted to spend all that money just on a big purse. Its sad, because I really wasnt sure I even wanted a laptop, and since we have to professional dress for class I thought carrying a leather bag would be better than a nylon one.

My husband wont be much help because his reflex will be to ask me how much it cost, then tell me to send it back.

So what do you think????

Don't send back the tote. It will probably be the item you get the most use out of. Unless you are required to have your laptop in class everyday, I would guess you will soon get tired of shlepping it around. Then you can carry your tote instead of the messenger bag. The tote is just a good mulit-purpose bag, I don't think you will have to worry about not using it.
Just as a sidenote, I also have a nice FranklinCovey planner, and while I love it, I find that it is too bulky to always carry (I have the compact size). A PDA is more definitely more convenient, but also more expensive. That's my two cents, hope it helps.

Rob.....you must make someone a very nice partner - that was an extremely thoughtful sentiment!

See? This is what I keep trying to TELL her!! lol..

My wife is my highschool sweetheart, we've been together for about 16 years and have 3 kids now which is the necessary glue for our success. We have a lot of history, much of it comfortable, much of it terrible. Some days are better than others depending on the current level of stress, but I think we're both pretty happy with the direction life is heading. We're probably making the mistake of believing that money will likely solve any outstanding problems since we've spent a lot of years without it. BUT, we both went back to school for different career upgrades, she's finishing her degree in education to be a teacher after this fall and I of course have 3 years left... so that said, considering daycare problems and expenses, we have a LOT of stressful days which doesn't help.

I appreciate your comments though 🙂

oh my gosh i felt like i just read the story of my life... my boyfriend and i were high school sweethearts and we've been dating for 7 years now with lots of history... ever since i was a freshman in HS. Ideally we'd want 3 kids, 2 boys first and then a girl, if it didn't require ME being pregnant and giving birth to them.

well actually i guess we're not so much alike aside from that...but anyways.....
