So my parents are currently putting pressure on me to apply to Upstate Early Assurance Program because they're worried that I won't get into any medical school regular admissions and want me to play it safe. My current GPA is 4.0, I'm involved in research, volunteering, I am holding some officer positions in a professional fraternity, and have won a merit scholarship for free four years tuition at the school I attend. However, my weakness is probably interviews because I am an introvert and I'm worried that that's a detriment when applying.

I'm just really conflicted about applying early assurance because it is binding and I don't know if I should jump into this program just because it's supposedly easier to get in.
Any advice?????????

Tell your parents that their logic is completely wrong and will likely result in you not only failing to be admitted to the EAP but also significantly decreasing your chances at regular admission due to the delay imposed by the EAP process.

I wouldn't, you have a 4.0 so i'm sure you have what it takes.

Almost never a good idea to do these
