hi all,

i have been reading through the forum topics and found them to be extremely helpful. thanks all for giving your time. i was wondering if you can give me some advice. i recently decided to apply to pharmacy school. i haven't taken the pcat. my dilemma is that there are not many schools left that doesn't require the pcat. i was hoping to go to a public school, because i went to a private undergraduate, which was very expensive.

should i just apply to a few public, pcat-not-required schools, or should i wait til next year? i have a B+ average cum from a fairly prestigious undergrad. i also have lots of volunteer experience. what do think my chances are? i have california residence, but most, if not all, the ca schools' deadlines have passed. thanks for your help. have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

Hi!
hobesound,

If you are planning to apply to some OUT-OF-STATE pharmacy schools, too, then apply to schools like University of Texas-Austin, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, coz these two schools deadlines are in Jan. and in Feb.

I hope this helps!

hi there!
good luck in your decision.. there's the pharmacy school in NV as well (Henderson? I can't remember) at: http://www.usn.edu/

their application doesn't require any recommendations, either, and no PCAT.

If you're not in a huge hurry to apply, it's not a bad idea to build on your pharmacy experience and put your thoughts together to apply next fall to USC, UOP, UCSF, UCSD, Loma Linda, and Western U (since you're in California 🙂 )

The applications to UCSF & UCSD have essays that are pretty lengthy, so having a few months to mull them over isn't a bad idea.

How about if you're a Canadian citizen and haven't completed your undergrad?

What schools in the US have a list of pre reqs but don't require a B.Sc / PCAT ? just wondering!
