LoveBeingHuman:)

I have gotten very close to one of my humanities professors. The other day there were about 6-7 students in office hours and she said her husband is a podiatrist and said that he had a lot of debt from medical school. Being an idiot, I politely corrected her and said that podiatry school isn't medical school. Her reaction was very stern and she was clearly mad at me for what I said. Should I forget about asking her for an LOR?

Make it up to her by reminding her you are one of her best students, i.e. class discussions and writing great papers. Then ask after she forgets about your small hiccup

podiatry school isn't medical school
I'm not well informed on this but I think many of them are called "X School of Podiatric Medicine?" It's understandable that she would say that. Why did you bother to correct her in the first place?
Sometimes it's better to avoid saying stuff when things like LORs are at stake.
On a second note, if you absolutely need a letter from her, I would recommend talking to her and explain that you didn't mean to devalue her husband's education.
