so I applied this past cycle, most of my secondaries were complete by early september. i got one interview at suny upstate, at which i was put on hold. i got rejected at two other schools, but haven't heard back from about 17 others. it's getting late in the cycle, should i be worried at this point?

You got an interview so that's a good sign that there aren't any glaring red flags on your app. Just gotta be patient. But this is SDN, so yea you should be panicking. Next cycle apply early and get those secondaries in in July.

Hard to say without knowing your app, but I think early September is probably pushing it for being 'on-time' this year considering that applications increased yet again at every single school. If nothing changes by February, get ready to reapply and submit everything on the first day next year.

How close to the schools' median were your numbers?

I'm just speculating because I know nothing about your application or the schools you applied to, but I don't think you should panic yet because interviews are still certainly going out. Many (most?) schools hand out interviews through December or January and there are likely very few new applications coming in right now.

Agreed. It also seems like schools are behind in their application review processing this year because of the AMCAS delay.

Random data point: I was complete at one of my schools in late August and only just received an II. My application was reviewed by the adcom within the past week, so I wasn't even getting an II from a deferred pile, they simply hadn't gotten to my application yet. Don't lose hope until late January (as difficult as that sounds).

is it worth applying to SMPs? with my numbers, would one help me any?

I think your GPA is too high for SMPs...not sure what the specific cut offs are...but don't most SMP candidates have 3.0-3.5 GPAs?
