I'm not sure if I should be worried at this point or not. Maybe I'm just a neurotic, anxious pre-med, but I read somewhere that at this point, medical schools have filled 2/3 of their classes for 2015. I'm applying this cycle, and submitted my primary 6/3, and the secondaries around 2-3 weeks after I received them (my turnover time is long, I am aware).

So far, I've gotten 1 rejection, 2 holds, and 1 interview. I applied to 19 schools total. Is it odd that I haven't heard back from more than four, or is this normal? Am I being too anxious?

It could be you being neurotic (it's bound to happen)…
but, without more information (your GPA/MCAT, ECs, where you applied), most people won't be able to really say too much regarding it.

Congrats on the interview though!

cGPA 3.53, sGPA 3.50
MCAT 34 (14PS, 10V, 10BS)

I got the interview from VCU, and I'm in-state. I generally applied to private schools with lower GPA requirements.

2/3 seems like a lot considering a lot of schools have had only a handfull of interview dates so far.

Can any adcoms confirm this?

I read it as well, as it was posted recently by @Goro . But perhaps he/she was speaking of DO schools. Not sure. But, then again, the DO cycle is longer, so now I'm more confused.

Edit: Ah, 2/3 interview seats filled does not mean 2/3 of the class seats have been filled. 😉 Kinda makes sense now. Schools will be pulling more applicants for interviews later in the cycle when interviewees begin to decline invites and/or accepted students decline offers.

We have filled >2/3's of the interview slots.
Acceptances for rolling schools start October 15th.
There are regional differences.

We have already exceeded the total number of applications received last year.

Is it common for accepted applicants to cancel their interviews after receiving acceptances on (or after) October 15th, thus freeing up interview slots for other candidates?

Not in my experience (I'm in CA, though).

Maryland is one of the few states harder on pre-meds than CA. Hopefully you have a strong, strategic list.

I am a non-trad and have maintained my residency in a different state (MI) while living in MD for the past 2 years. I think I did a pretty good job of putting together a strategic list - 27 schools, and I applied to my own state schools and UMD along with a range of private schools where my numbers were close. I've received 2 IIs thus far (one OOS public and one private), 1 hold, and 1 rejection. I haven't heard anything from MI state schools or MD yet. I'm trying my best to remain hopeful, since the cycle lasts until the coming spring.

MI: Much Improved (chances, that is!)

See gyngyn's posts above.

Yikes. 🤔

Damn. That sucks to hear.

It seems nowadays that if you submit any later than the opening date, your app will effectively be late.
That might be a contributing factor to the lack of action.
The fact you've received an II already suggests you'r app doesn't have any glaring errors/shortcomings, so hang in there!

In a couple of years it will come down to how many minutes after the app opened you submitted and schools will have filled up by the next day. God, this is becoming ridiculous.
