Congrats to all those people getting interview invites. So, if I have no interview invite at this point, should I start to worry? anybody else in similar situation?😱

a simple look through the interview invite thread shows that 33 programs have sent invitations (to SDN members). last year's invite thread had 121 programs represented.

that means that 75% of the programs haven't even sent an invite out yet, at least according to a very small sample size. at worst, half of the programs haven't sent anything. so no, it's not time to worry 🙂

i am worrying anyway :scared: I applied to 6 out of the ones that sent out invites already, got 1... (so 14 more to go....)i am FREAKING OUT :scared: think it may have to do something with being a DO, as my scores are pretty ok.... +pissed+ eh, if I don't get in I am gonna open a climbing gym 😀

I don't know if I should be worrying yet... but I sure as hell am.

many programs send out 2-3 waves of invites, so there's still hope if you didn't get one initially.

ok that made me feel little better thanks!😀

isnt this still rather early in the application season..?

did all you guys that got interviews have your dean's letter and LOR's already submitted to ERAS?

For some strange reason a lot of the program websites state a completed application includes the Dean's letter before they would give out interviews. My Dean's letter will not arrive until November and I have received interviews from programs that needed a Dean's letter for a completed application. LOR's all submitted first week ERAS opened for certification.

I think it is early and more programs will be sending out invites from here on out.

yeah, hold in there guys. I was in your shoes last year and really didn't get a lot of invites until Oct. It is early and some programs are just faster than others to get out the invites. Also, they do have waves of invites and if you are in the later ones, who cares. You can go in there and give them something that they have been waiting to hear/see in the previous applicants.

thanks everyone. I will keep my fingers crossed, and gl to everyone.

Did you turn in Eras the first day it opened? I got it in about a week after it opened and was starting to freak out too after almost 2 weeks of not hearing anything. Then I got two interview invites in the last couple days. I feel better now. You'll probably start getting some invites soon too. 🙂

Relax, dudes/dudettes. There's still plenty of time. You'll hear back from a lot more in the next two months.

Yea, I turned it in on the first day. Thanks for the support, gl to you.

I hear what your saying. I am a little concerned as well as a few of the programs I applied to have sent out invites to people (especially the programs I am really interested in). I am a DO as well and it always makes me concerned (even though I don't think we have any reason to be to worried just as of yet). Here is to hoping we get some more of those magic emails soon.

It is now Nov and I only got 1 interview and 1 wait-listed. I applied broadly and to A TON of programs. Should I start calling the programs?? I am freaking out!!!!!!! 🙁

I agreed with southpaw. You should starting calling/writing emails, it wouldn't hurt at this point. Good luck with everything.

Thanks for the advice! Hopefully, I can get thru to the PD directly. Will be emailing too. Keeps my fingers crossed and be hopeful!

Don't count on that. You'll be speaking to the Program Coordinator if you call.

Even if you email, it's likely it will be screened before it reaches the PD, unless it is a smaller program.
