I just got an interview invite for TunCOM NY (Middletown) with available dates as early as March 7th. I don't have a lot of money so I'm not sure if I should hold out a couple days to see if I hear back from Western in California (California IS). I applied to 11 schools (all DO) and invited to 3 interviews. ACOM put me on wait list (interview 2/12), Western hasn't got back to me (interview 2/25). If Western accepts me I wouldn't go to NY, but if they don't or wait list me, I would want to get the earliest interview date in NY as possible. Any thoughts?

I think you can email Western and see if you can get a decision sooner. I know people who were accepted to another school and they had to put a deposit down soon but were waiting to hear from Western/other schools. They just emailed explaining the situation and the schools are usually very responsive. Although your situation is a bit different, I think it's pretty similar.

No acceptance? Book it ASAP.
Think of it this way: cost of cancelling a flight (which you still get to keep the funds most of the time) vs. cost of applying again next year.
For a hotel, book the refundable rate as long as they're pretty similar.
If you don't have a credit card, PM me and I can help provide info on how to get one.
Also, call western like the previous poster said.

If you haven't got an acceptance and if don't get one how do you think you'd feel for turning down an interview? It's all about risk management vs financial worth. What would it cost you to wait another year?

You can always potentially cancel hotels, flights, etc later if you book with the right airline. Earlier is often better.
