Hey guys,

So it's currently June 2nd, and I'm about to pay to have all my letters of rec (and matching forms) sent from my school's career center letter service to AADSAS. Should I choose to pay $5 for basic processing (which takes 3-5 business days to mail) or $25 for express processing (guaranteed 2 business days processing)? I feel like basic processing should be fine, since it's still super early, but I just wanted to make sure because I'm not entirely sure of when "early" still is.

Thanks!! 🙂

Why wouldn't you just ask your school's career center how long regular would take? Many times they'll tell you that if they aren't inundated with work the regular processing will go out just as quickly. Needless to say if you walk in there in person and there are thousands of papers flying around in the air and people are screaming at each other drowning in paper work, I'd probably opt for express.

Well even if does take them 5 business days to process, wouldn't it still get to AADSAS "early"? (today is June 2nd, so the latest it'd be put in the mail would be June 10th, so AADSAS would get it between June 13th and June 17th).

hey i got a question berk.
i do use a similar system as you are with your career center sending out the LORs to aadsas. i was wondering on the LOR matching forms, at the bottom where it says evaluator information. do the evaluators HAVE to fill that out? i got my LORs like couple years ago during school and they are all sent to my career center database. Could i fill out this information instead? Did you put the phone number of the evaluators also?

Hey Jeff. I just went ahead and filled out the bottom part myself, and I contacted individual dentists to make sure I put the right address/phone numbers. I assume it's mandatory to fill out, which makes sense - I mean, if dental schools want to contact the letter writers for more info, they'll use the contact information on that sheet, I guess. So yes, do fill out that bottom part yourself, and contact your professors/dentists for the correct contact info. Hope that helps! 😀

I know it was probably overkill, but I went ahead and paid the extra twenty dollars to have it mailed Express. I know, I know...probably unnecessary...but I really nervous about this whole process, and I want to do everything I can to make sure my app has the best chance possible of getting in early. I've been gearing up for months for this application, preparing myself mentally and financially, and I'd rather be $20 down the hill but on the safe side in case the letters get delayed. But yeah...probably unnecessary. 😉
