Welcome to the forums.

You suffer from lots of activities but low academics. A 3.0 sGPA is challenging even with your withdrawals that I think your path must go through an SMP. You have the MCAT and the hours for a strong profile, but you need the academic readiness of an SMP to maximize your chances. What do your prehealth advisors say?

Hi, thank you for taking the time to review my profile. My pre health advisors have given me mixed guidancesome recommend applying broadly to both MD and DO programs with a strong personal statement and a clear explanation of my academic withdrawals, while others suggest pursuing an SMP or master’s degree. Personally, I’m leaning toward the SMP/master’s route to minimize risk and avoid being a reapplicant, However, I’m concerned that if I delay by a year or two, it might look less competitive since I reduced my activities the last few months to focus on my GPA.. I’ve been exploring the option of delaying my application for graduation and taking additional courses to boost my undergraduate GPA instead of locking it in, but I am already in my 6th year technically.

The GPA-MCAT grid shows you have a ~40% chance for a MD acceptance. If you increase your cGPA to 3.3 it increases to 50%. You are competitive for most DO schools.
Thank you for the reply. I haven't seen too much info, but do you recommend delaying graduation date to take classes at a cheaper uni to increase sGPA? or would a DIY post bacc/SMP/Masters be better after graduating.

No, you need a formal SMP if you want to have a decent chance at MD schools.
