Volunteer for about a year now at Emergency Department, 4 months at a charity pharmacy 40 hours of shadowing with 3 docs. I am Non traditional URM. I have not submitted my primary yet. I have been shadowing a DO and could get a letter. thanks

your gpa is good. Try to get your mcat>25 and you should be able to get interviews. But you should apply now like now. Are your letters all ready and good to go? Processing seems to be faster this year so you might still get your app verified by mid to late sept if u can get it in within the next week or so. To only reason why i am suggesting you to apply is that your sgpa is good and your overall is reasonable so i think you have a good shot.

for DO schools, your GPA is above average. avg MCAT for DO school is between 25 and 27. usually, if you are above avg in GPA, they are more forgiving with the MCAT. but like jaywalk said, a 22 is still low. We are starting to get late in the app cycle.
you COULD late register for the MCAT sept 11, but it's so hard to raise an MCAT 5 points with only a week of studying. in my opinion...study, take the January or April MCAT, and submit the first day for next year's cycle. that will give you a better chance on several levels, date of submission, MCAT, confidence.
if your goal is to get in, then you should do so by maximizing your chances. if waiting a year is going to kill you, then apply, you DO have a chance.it is really up to you, everyone is going to have different opinions
