my poor dog is pretty much alone in my apartment all day, 6 days a week while im in school and when i get home i barely have time with her 🙁 i feel so ****ty leaving her by herself while im in class. some of my classmates have multiple dogs or a dog+cat combo that seem to work well for them. i have a pretty small studio type apartment, im not so sure if i have space for another dog. what do you guys think?

I've always been told (and I agree) that if you have one lonely dog, and you add another dog, you're just going to have two lonely dogs. It may work for some, but it isn't by any means an answer. Do you have access to a dog walker or doggie daycare? The latter may be too expensive for a student but the former may be a good option.

Another thing to think about is that you have a small space and you don't want to leave two animals that don't know each other alone together. A fight while you are gone could be disastrous. I think something like dog daycare or a dog walker, even a couple days a week, could really help. As could finding some ways to keep your dog physically and mentally exercised, without taking too much of your time. "Work to eat" toys are awesome, some dogs will use a treadmill, etc.
