Should I get Destroyer? I just can't decide.. please help!

So I've been trying to make this decision for a long time, and I don't know whether I should buy Destroyer...

Here's my study schedule: At the end of May, I studied Cliffs AP Bio lightly (I was on vacation). Through June til now, I've been doing the Kaplan online course, and if I stay on schedule, I won't be done until ~August 8th. That leaves me with 3 full weeks before the DAT. I was planning on going over my class notes from my science classes (a lot of the material is still fresh b/c I just finished sophomore year). But should I get Destroyer? I'm doing really well on ochem because I just finished it. Gen chem is alright - I'm good with concepts, okay with calculations. Kaplan seems to have really good practice for gchem though. I'm struggling a bit with bio, because it's so broad, but I plan on going over Cliffs AP Bio again because I loooved it. So, I think it could help me w/bio, but I don't need more help with the GC/OC.

Should I bother to get Destroyer? I've read on here about people regretting not getting it.. but.. with 3 weeks, is there enough time? If I do get it, should I just go through the practice Q's or go through the whole book? I'm not very willing to shell out the money because I've already invested so much for the Kaplan course, Achiever, TopScore (going to take the latter two in those last few weeks), and Crack DAT PAT.

I would just get it. 3 weeks is PLENTY of time to go through it. You can probably go over the whole thing in about 4 days. Just do 80 bio and 50 gchem/ochem a day.

For a test such as the DAT, you dont want any regrets and as much exposure to different kinds of questions as possible.

Destroyer only has questions, and you learn from the questions and the answrs exlpained. If you buy destroyer now you are going to realize how much information you are mssing from the sciences, (i m not sure if that is good or bad). You can finish the destroyer cover to covr in a week and a half, but thats only if you make a serious commitment to studying. I wouldnvery strongly recommend getting the destroyer and giong through it like 2 or 3 times. It is the most valuable tool for the scieces.

That doesn't sound bad at all! I was under the impression that Destroyer had a reading section like Kaplan BB. But questions are much better. I can deal with questions! 😳

Right now I'm working full-time in a lab, so I've only been able to study 4-6 hours a night. But as soon as Aug. 8th rolls around, I'll be done in the lab and I can devote my time fully to studying. Oh joy 😀 hehe

Is it best to buy it from Orgoman himself or find it cheaper somewhere else??

The book has a no resale clause in its front cover so you should not buy it from someone else. Also you gotta make sure that you have the newest updated version with all the questions. Hurry up and order it either way, its the most important source for the sciences and you dont want to have to rush through it.

buy it! I am 100% sure you are happy with it. I score around 19 on Kaplan gen and ochem subject tests. So i think i am ok with it UNTIL i do destroyer.
I really love it.
I think you can do all the problem in 2 weeks or less since it cost me a day to do 100 problems on each section.

Thanks for your advice everyone! My DAT Destroyer came in the mail today.. woohoo! It doesn't look terrible.. I do think I can do it in a few days. My goal is to go through it at least once!

I do a set of 40 and then grade myself. Whatever I get wrong, I would read the explanation, and if I still dont understand, I look it up.

I just ordered Destroyer too. I am in a similar situation as Neuro.. but am much less confident haha..

Definitely get it..like everyone said, you'll realize what you don't know when you start getting into the questions in destroyer. Very detailed explanation of all of the answers/wrong answers. I think it's a must have!!! It definitely takes a while to go through and really understand EVERYTHING but I think 3 weeks is more than enough time.
