Alright guys,

I messed up my sophomore year, and my average took a nose dive. I'm in the low 70s right now.

In my first year I was getting As and Bs, but 2nd year came around... I was in a relationship which took some time out of both of us, and thus we ended the relationship for the betterment of our grades.

I'm planning on taking a couple summer classes that I'm going to strap down and study ridiculously hard (I quit my part-time job and didn't sign up for any summer sports)...

If I were to pull off As in the summer, and 3rd year, would I stand a chance? Just wanting to see if anyone has heard of people who are in the same situation as me and managed to get interviews.

I'll be looking to apply somewhere in the States or Canada.

Thank you so much in advance!

What is your GPA? exactly...

I go to UBC right now, they don't provide us with a GPA just our letter grade and the percentage.

I've been trying to find an accurate GPA convertor online, is there a specific one that everyone uses?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for the reply!

My overall percentage is 74

You should absolutely not give up. The key is to finish strong. Sophomore year is halfway through, do well this summer, the last two years, and even retake those courses if you can. I don't know if asked, if you should talk about the reasons being a relationship, because that indicates that you could allow that to happen again in dental school. You might want to consider speaking of a more serious incident if asked, but I don't think you should give up at all.

Never give up. It is not abnormal for dental school applicants to have a few bumps on the road and lows on your transcript. I certainly did. Finish strong and you'll be fine. Just be ready to explain yourself if they do ask about it.

Your fine, it took me 6 years to turn my grades around, you've done the first step in recognizing you need a change. Work hard and you will succeed.
