Should I give up?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
a 21 MCAT is basically a death sentence unless you have something extraordinary. your GPA is also on the low side from the looks of things.

now, do you know why you scored so low in VR and BS? your PS score is very good, so you should have the aptitude to do well in the sciences. is your biology background particularly weak? and for the abysmal verbal score, are you an ESL speaker?

if you want to become a physician, try to bump up your GPA and absolutely retake the MCAT. right now, i dont even want to know your ECs because that 21 is just unacceptable.

figure out what went wrong (you might want to try the MCAT forum) and retake the MCAT.

Get the VR up to at least a 6, the BS to at least an 8 and apply DO.

I'm assuming your total gpa is a 3.26? Is this right?
If so, then you still have a chance at DO. With that said, if you are really passionate about medicine and want to get in, you might want to retake some of your classes that you got the worst grades in, and get A's in them. Raise your gpa up to a 3.5, because DO schools are okay with grade replacement, and will replace your gpa. Then apply DO. Oh, and definitely retake the MCAT. Just, like, do it. Take an MCAT course if you need to, even if you have to pay for it. In the long run, it will be worth it to try a little harder.

WTF happened third year?

Gonna need to redo that MCAT.

I am ESL, but I have been an English speaker for over 12 years and should have had time to improve. I took the VR the most seriously while studying in a 3 month schedule and I was doing multiple passages per day. As for bio, my poor ability to master ways of remembering things may be have hindered my performance. I've had 2 bio courses in my 3 years of study, maybe that could have been the problem.

I thought I could get 4.0 GPA and work 40-50 hours per week... Ah, over-confidence, how you've screwed me...

Retake the MCAT and aim for 27+ (since you have zero chance at MD schools). And get your GPA up. That downward trend will kill you.

Yeah, I have a lot of problems with over confidence too. Sometimes I think I can handle everything, when that's not really the reality. You just have to be real with yourself and always get a reality check.

Don't worry. Medical school has none of that 🙄

You MUST retake the MCAT at all cost. Spend your summer break studying for MCAT ONLY.
