should I leave this EC out?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Talk about what you learned from the activity and apply it to medicine.

I was a columnist for the school paper and wrote one particularly terrible, whiny piece that I wish didn't exist and submitted on a mere whim.
Other than that, I am quite content with my work and would like to talk about the experience, but that one article just bothers me to the point where I'm considering leaving out the activity altogether in my primary. (No, it wasn't anything terrible like my confessing a secret desire to murder baby gazelles in africa; just some unsolicited whining)
Would the adcoms even bother to check my written work if i were to include the activity in my apps? (It will probably be not the top 3 most meaningful, just because I really hate that one piece so much)
Does it pop up on the first or second page if one does an internet search with your name and that of the newspaper? Is the provided link for that piece going to catch the eye above all the other inclusions from the Search?

Adcoms and interviewers have definitely searched publications and other writing pieces of applicants before. Hope your whining didn't include something racist, sexist, or had the words "thanks Obama."

I'm curious why the editor agreed to post a whining rant... that's bad writing and no reader cares about a columnist's rant
yes to both the bad writing and nobody caring about some columnist's rant, but school papers need to have their slots filled... they're always short of stories/ writers.
