I am beginning my second year as a medical assistant and since the onset of COVID, my job has changed drastically. My job went from the typical medical assistant responsibilities to swabbing 300+ patients a day, running rapid tests/ sending out PCRs, etc. Should I list this as a separate experience since it's a complete 180 from what I was doing a year prior, or include the hours in my medical assistant experience?
What would you list it as? I don't think it really will make a difference. Just don't count your hours for both (180 for COVID and 180 MA).

If your original MA duties include "duties as necessary", then it's not completely necessary to list it separately, but I will say you have that option and could list it that way. From my own reading of applications, I can recommend that clearly noting any additional duties in MA in your description will be helpful, but listing it separately will help make it stand out when I read it.
