I recently had interviews at two of my state schools where I mentioned my poor background, as in economical wise. But now that I have interviews at top ranking, private schools should I mention this during their interviews? Would this turn off the interviewer and the committee?

did you apply as a disadvantaged applicant? if you did, then maybe i would bring it up if they ask you if you have anything to add, otherwise i'm not sure. if you do bring it up, just try and play it off cool. try to be sly about the way you bring it up. it is a great accomplishment to get where you are when starting off tough, so be proud, but don't whine...you know what I mean?

good luck...just be yourself and i'm sure you'll do great!
