Should I mention this volunteer experience?

There was a time when I was juggling dentistry and optometry as career choices and I shadowed at a dental and an optometry office. Is it weird if I mention my volunteer experience at the dental office on my optometry app, especially if I ended up staying at the dental office twice as long as the optometry office?

Personally, I wouldn't, because it may look like you really are not committed to the profession. however, this may be something you would want to bring up at your interview as an aside... the fact that you worked at a dental office while also at an optometry office, which confirmed for you that you definitely want to be an optometrist. This is just my opinion though!
