Should I push my test date back? If so, how should I go about studying?

Hi,

If anyone can provide me with some suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it!

Originally, I was scheduled to take the DAT this Friday (July 1st), but I just took a TS exam this morning and here are my breakdowns:

Bio: 17
GenChem: 17
OChem: 19
RC: 20
QR: 20
PAT: 21

My scores have been fluctuating a lot (science sections are always wavering between 17 and 19...but never over a 20🙁 ) and I know I should study longer before I take the real DAT.

So, rather than taking the exam this Friday, I'm considering pushing the exam back 1-2 weeks. But, I'm not sure how to go about studying if I do. I already read through the Kaplan Blue Book and Cliffs AP Bio. If anyone can provide me with some suggestions, I would truly appreciate it.

Also, do you think pushing back 1-2 weeks will be enough? While I want to get my score in as soon as possible, I also don't want to bomb it. Re-taking the exam in 3 months will not be ideal :scared:

Once again, thank you all for your help!

Delaying is not a bad idea; get your hand on as much practice material as you can: Kaplan, topscore, achiever, the ADA practice tests! Practice your science!

Taking it at the end of july wont b a bad idea...Take more time out to study ur sciences if ur not feeling confident... the rest of your sections need only practice looks like u already know what ur doing in them...

Study ur science a bit more...Use Chad videos for Gchem and Ochem ...
Use www.datqvalt.com for extra bio practice...

Your overall sciences score is low which will be reflected as TS. I would not postpone it two weeks but actually a month. Go over Chads because I think you need it. Look over Cliffs again if you haven't, DATQvault like someone mentioned as well as Destroyer Bio Qs again. Back up with Wolfe videos if necessary for bio concepts. I don't think it is necessarily bad for you to push your DAT test date a month.

Seems like you want a 20-21.
You will get a 19 right now if you took it.
