My DAT-studying story: I have been studying for the DAT ever since the Fall semester was done, so from around 12/20 if I recall correctly. I spend 8 hours studying everyday, but I would say only 6 hours among those are solid studying, the other 2 hours are always wasted on distractions. Also I take a couple of days off for Christmas and New Year. I am a Chemistry major, so Bio is always my weakest area (I got B's in my Bio classes). Therefore, during the entire 1st week I just catch up on Bio using AP Bio Cliff's. I try to memorize all the content, but I am not familiar with a lot of those topics so it was hard. I am having a cGPA of 3.61 and sGPA of 3.52 (screwed up by the B's in my Bio classes). I expect to finish this Spring semester with a 3.6 cGPA at the lowest, and also hope to raise my sGPA up with my major classes.
Second week, I start using KBB for Bio, OChem and Gen Chem and Math. Gen Chem and Math are always my forte and I can get above 20 without spending much time studying (since I major in those fields). OChem is a different story though, I'm not doing so hot in this area. For the last couple days I've been doing DAT Destroyer. I do ~30 OChem, ~30 Gen Chem, ~50 Bio and ~20 Math everyday. I plan to do all the questions in Destroyer at least twice like what is suggested here on SDN. What freaks me out is that I'm getting like 50% correct for OChem and Bio (and ~90% for Gen Chem and Math). I also do Crack DAT PAT and I always run out of time.
My question: I plan to take the DAT on Friday 2/6. I'd rather take it on Friday February the 13th but I am quite superstitious lol. If I choose to do so, I will have a month left to study from now. But school starts in 10 days, and I'll take 15 credits in the Spring (4 Chem classes). I can only do 3 hours max/day for DAT due to classes + job + shadowing. Therefore, I'd really like to take the DAT in early Feb to get it done with before my 1st wave of midterms. Is a month from now enough? Should I keep doing what I am doing now, or is there another plan of action that I should take immediately? Again, what freaks me out most is the feeling that all the studying I've done is still not enough, since I am getting low score on DAT Destroyer. Please help me out. Thanks!
