Should I reschedule? Advice Please!

Hi all SDNers,

I am in need of some advice. My big day is one week from today. I have most of my application completed just waiting on FAP (should have applied sooner). I have been studying for a while now. Like I have stated, the big day is a week from today, however, I have been debating on pushing back to August 5th, or even August 13th. If I do push it back I plan on submitting my application next week.

Biol: I have read through Cliffs once and going through 2nd time, but taking notes this time around.

I have gone through destroyer Ochem 2.5 times, plan on doing more of it. G-chem 2 times (i'm sucking). Not going through Biol, although I should.

CDP

Math: Doing Math destroyer and getting destroyed. I still feel like I have a lot of holes to fill.

Reading: getting raped.

I have taken 2 topscore (not everything) and 2 achiever (not everything)

Topscore 1 - 18, 13👎, 13👎, 21, 17, 19 (took this 3 weeks ago)
Topscore 2 - 15, --, 17, 25, --, -- (took it last week)
Achiever 1 - 14😡, 16, 18, 18, 15, 17 (last week)
Achiever 2 - 15, 14, 18, 19, 15, -- (the other day)
ADA Sample- 18 biol, 25 ochem (I thought it was kinda simple).

I need at least a 20 because of a graduated GPA of oGPA 3.36 and sciGPA 3.27. Any advice is appreciated, you can be critical, you can be nice, you can be whatever, I just need some advice and your take on whether or not I should reschedule or not.

I am leaning towards rescheduling to the 13th. It won't be too late for me will it?

This is what I would do, take the last topscore exam, if you get below a 17 in any of your sciences then I would reschedule.

I think your ochem on the 2nd topscore is not bad at all. I've seen many people on here say they got nothing higher than a 16 in gen chem and ochem and made >20's on the actual test.

Why didn't you take the gen chem for topscore #2?

welp, since you havnt submitted you app yet which is the important part, then take the DAT whenever u want over the next couple of weeks honestly. bc since u havnt submitted yet, the day you submit it will take them like at least 4 weeks to even process ur app, so by the time u take ur DAT, im sure they wont even be looking at your application or reviewing it as your app probably will still be being processed. so just take it august 13th, as it wont affect u im pretty sure. its not like u applied on the 1st day the cycle opened and theyre going to be rewewing your application first, which would be incomplete in that case since ur DAT scores wouldnt have been in.
does this make sense? just get your app in asap, its more imp right now than when u take ur DAT

Why didn't you take the gen chem for topscore #2?

It was late when I took it and when I got to gchem I didn't feel like doing anymore testing so I put it off and never got to it again. I will probably do it within the next couple of days.

that actually does make sense. I already have transcript sent, 3 of my letters in (just dentist left), and just waiting on FAP to approve of me and I will press the Submit button.

Thanks for the advice, I will more than likely reschedule to the 13th, the only thing I wasn't sure about was if that was too late or not. You know, my chances of getting in aren't the best, so I still want to destroy this thing .

I think the best advice I got was if you feel like you arent ready yet dont take it. You are better off waiting another couple of weeks and going into the test feeling well prepared than taking it now and not feeling confident. Your scores may suffer and its better to wait a little longer than have to take it again and wait another 90 days. After you send in your application it takes a couple of weeks to process and mail it out so you have some time.

i think you should reschedule. Confidence is everything. and if you need a 20 imo all sections should be 17 or above, but that is just me. most people are +2 or 3 from topscore results.

Yeah, I haven't rescheduled yet, but will reschedule to the 13th. I need to have that confidence going in. I have that confidence for PAT and Ochem(a little), but all the other sections I still have big holes to fill. It is better to go in there and kill it than go in there unprepared and screw my chances of getting in even more.

speaking of topscore #2, i just did it and gchem was freakin longggg compared to the first one. 90% of the questions were calculation based. i ended up rushing through it and managed to finish 12 minutes ahead of time but I made a few calculation errors due to my panicking.

even though youre planning on rescheding and havnt rescheduled yet, you should really look at the dates that are available to take your DAT at your nearest prometric. when i rescheduled there was hardly any days left in august bc the spots kept filling up. just a heads up! stay calm though! i know its hard, im in the same boat ahhh

I'm writing mine in freaking 3 days!!! lol and because of construction going on near my house, my house is shaking alll day and my body is shaking all day which make it really hard to concentrate sigh...

My topscore is better than yours, but not that hot but I'm still going to write my DAT.

Hey guys, I'm scheduled to take my exam on the 25th (in 5 days) and I don't feel 100% confident. Would taking it 9/1 (a week later) be too late?? I'm applying this cycle. Apps are mailing 8/20.

I'd suggest you not to skip certain sections on topscore. If you wanted to do problems and see where you stand, I think doing problems from destroyer isn't bad at all. Topscore is really meant for you to time yourself and believe it or not, once you get comfortable with the whole 4.5 hr-test you can perform better. I was so tempted to skip certain sections too, but I thought it would really help me out if I sucked it in and just enjoy the test.

Try the full-length for your third one and see where you stand. If you're still not satisfied, I would re-schedule (only b/c you haven't submitted your app yet).
