my situation:

i took my school's cbssa and got the estimated equivalent of a 230. i took nbme 4 and got the estimated equivalent of a 231. i'm schedule to take step 1 june 23. thing is, i'm not aiming for anything really competitive (want to do primary care) and would be perfectly happy with a 230 on the real thing. would i be stupid if i re-scheduled to 1 or 1.5 weeks earlier so i could get some more vacation time? not sure how i would feel if i rescheduled and then got a 200 or something. would probably be pissed. but i'm not too thrilled about the idea of non-stop studying for another 5+ weeks either. i definitely won't reschedule until i take another nbme and get at or above a 230...but i thought i would elicit some opinions first.

thanks!

If you're set on primary care, then move it up. Chances are you're going to get around a 230, and even if you got a 200, you would still have your pick at whatever residency program you wanted.

I would say to continue studying and take another NBME down the road maybe in two weeks. If you score within the 230 range then move up the test date.

Yea, like you said take another NBME first. People (some but not all) tend to score a bit lower on the real exam. If you're feeling confident and comfortable after another NBME and extra vacation time is very important to you then move up the test date.
