I'm an old person seeking advice. I received an MSc in Math in 2007 from a highly respected UK university. I did that by research. My undergraduate GPA is 3.2, and I got Bs and Cs in Physics, Gen Chem, O-Chem, and Bio. I became a mature student during my research student years and have much better understanding in those topics now. I haven't taken any MCAT yet, but I aim to score at least 13 in all 3 topics. My question is, Should I retake all prerequisites in order to bring up my GPA? Another question I have is about the age of MCAT score. Suppose I take an MCAT this year. How long is the score valid to apply for a medical school? Thanks in advance for all your advice.

From what I read most MCAT scores are valid for 3 years from the date you take them, although it is school specific. So you will need to check with the schools you're interested in. As far as the rest of your post, I don't really have enough experience to speak to that. A 39 is a pretty high score on the MCAT though. Not too many people pull that off. I think if you actually score that high your GPA will not be as big of an issue, but it would definitely make life easier to bring it up a few points. Best of luck.
