Should I retake core courses

I graduated in 94 with a BBA. I am about finished with my prereq's since returning to school last summer. So far all A's. I had about a 2.7 GPA when I graduated. I am currently around a 3.0 so I still need to improve on this. How would it be viewed if I retake some freshman/sophmore classes (GOVT, HIST, ECO, etc) that I took at a community college in 90-92 which I got Cs in? I think it would be cheaper and easier than taking more science courses. I just wonder if it will be viewed negatively.

Since your background is not really science, this is what you should focus on. You may even benefit from doing a formal masters program affiliated with a medical school so you can enhance your GPA with new science courses. IMHO, medical schools will not really care if you retake economics, history etc. Good luck!

I agree-they will focus more on your science gpa, and I think retaking a lot of social science classes will probably not help.

If you have a 4.0 in all the pre-reqs, perhas a few additional science courses (microbiology, cell biology, biochem) would be better than retaking history.

My undergrad GPA was 2.7, and no one commented on it since it was 10 years old and i had done so well on my pre-reqs (and had a masters with a good GPA).
