Should I retake DAT in October? 20AA 3.5 GPA

I took my DAT today and got 22PAT/19QR/21RC/20Bio/19GC/23OC/21TS/20AA. I know my scores are good, but I don’t think I have really big chance of getting into dental schools as my oGPA and sGPA are not very high (3.5 oGPA, 3.4 sGPA). I’m unsatisfied with my QR and GC scores. I’m good at math and general chemistry, so I didn’t put much time on studying QR and GC and focused on OC. I don’t know why I got a low score in GC as I did really well in my Bootcamp tests. Hence, I’m confident that I can get higher scores in QR and GC if I practice those sections and retake the DAT. Is it took late to retake DAT in early October? Or should I keep the scores? My dream school is Columbia University, but my GPA and DAT scores are below the acceptance scores🙁

just go ahead and apply- a retake in October would be too late for this cycle. You can keep Columbia on your application but the odds are against you.

Your scores and GPA are fine and are both right at the average for acceptances.

Edit: Didn't realize you want to get into Columbia. If that's the case a 23 or above is your best bet.

If your dream school is Columbia, IMO a retake will be necessary, but call the school directly with your stats and ask them.

I agree with orgoman: call Columbia! Otherwise, the DAT scores are good! If the rest of your application is good, your GPA doesn't seem like it would be a huge problem. I'm also applying this cycle, so I don't know for sure, but your GPA looks fine.

I just called Columbia and they said I can send the unoffical offical score report after taking the test!

I personally wouldn't retake. I know Columbia is your dream school, but you have competitive stats for a lot of other schools, so I think a retake would be a waste of time and money.
