About half of the pre reqs I have taken for dental school come from a community college. Do I need to retake those courses at a university? Also, those pre reqs were gotten during 12 hour semesters and not the 15 hours and above Dental Schools look for. How bad will that look to Dental Schools?

Thank you.

If those classes transferred to your university then there is NO point of retaking. Just continue taking upper level science classes at the university. 12 hrs semesters won't kill ya.

Whew. Yes those classes did transfer. Okay then, thank you. 🙂

Eh, it depends on the school. There's a document around here somewhere that shows what school will take pre-reqs from CC and which ones won't. Honestly, you may have to take chem/ochem at a 4 year college if you're applying to said schools. If you took bio1/bio2 I'm sure you could take a few upper levels at a 4 year and it would be fine.

Here's a thread from 2008 so it may not be the most up to date, but it shows what schools take.
