Hey guys!

I recently took the dat and these are my scores:

Bio: 26
Chem: 24
Ochem: 27
RC; 19
QR: 17
PAt:19
AA; 23
TS: 26

Should I retake since my QR, RC, and PAT are lower than average?

No you shouldn't retake. Your scores are very good. Do a little more research on your part because your QR, RC, and PAT are not lower than average.

OP, you probably think we're trolling but we're dead serious right now.

Retake, aim for at least 25 on each subsection across the board (if you're a gambling man, maybe they'll let you get away with a 23PAT), and thank us later.

Or stick with your mediocre score and apply at your own peril.

Well since theres a thread for this i may as well ask too. Should i retake? 🙁

AA 36
TS 50
Bio 33
Chem 60
Ochem 55
RC 25
QR 17
PAT 99

Im a little self conscious about my QR score 🙁 and im wondering if its gonna hold me back. Any advice is appreciated! 🙂 If it helps, im looking to apply to USC, LECOM, and Harvard.

Wow 25 in RC? Can you even read this sentence?

Get your PAT up to triple digits and maybe you'll have a fighting chance.

No guarantees though... I'm no fortune teller!

I just hope OP realizes people aren't serious. Some people here have a future in comedy...

Way to start off the morning with a good laugh. HAHA.

That's messed up that you're trying to troll him like that... don't pollute this thread. To think you have the audacity to come into this thread and mess with OP when we're trying to help him achieve his dream of getting into dental school..... SMH. OP, great advice in this thread so far. Keep your head up man and study hard! I have no doubt that you'll kill the DAT on your retake and you'll get many interviews! Admissions love to see persistence and they'll take notice of the improvements you make with your retake. Good luck with studying and keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get that DAT. Thanks for the motivation.

Thank you everyone for the feedback (even the sarcastic ones)! I asked because after reading through UoP's website I started to worry! This is directly from their website:

"Q: Are my Dental Admission Test (DAT) scores competitive?
A: Our incoming class averages are:

  • Academic average: 22
  • Perceptual ability: 22
  • Quantitative Reasoning: 21
  • Reading comprehension: 22
  • Biology: 21
  • General chemistry: 23
  • Organic chemistry: 23
  • Total science: 22
Competitive scores this year were 22 and higher. If your scores are significantly lower than our class averages, we recommend to retake the Dental Admissions Test (DAT)."

In light of that information, you should definitely retake. Best of luck!

Exactly, you need to retake. No one is being sarcastic here.

@Keklel Yeah, unfortunately, he needs to retake. Hopefully, he/she realizes we are all very serious and not being sarcastic.

Yeah, of course it's higher at Penn. That score will get you into most anywhere else though.
