Hello I'm applying this summer and just took dat and was wondering if my scores are good enough to get in... Specifically nyu or stoney brook. My gpa is 3.7 science gpa is 3.5 I shadow and do volunteer work.
Dat scores:
Pat: 19
Quantitative: 16 (mostly worried about)
Reading: 18
Biology: 19
Chemistry: 22
Organic: 25
Total science: 21
Academic average : 20

I'd say give it a go with those scores. Your GPA is rock solid and assuming you've got the requisite shadowing hours/volunteer experience and aren't a total slug I think you've got a totally reasonable shot at getting in. That said, if you think you can do better or study differently, raising QR and RC would bring up your AA and would likely make you a stronger applicant. It's anyones guess, really.

Forget Stonybrook... 16 in QR is not good coupled with 18 in RC. You have whole summer to retake. Your scores for chemistries are rock solid. Definitely retake if you want to get in to stonybrook. There is a good chance you can get in to NYC without retake. I would personally would not take a risk.

We have the same TS/PAT and very similar GPA and I got into NYU. I don't know if they have a section minimum or not for QR but you could call and ask. Good news is thats usually regarded at the least important section, but some schools have a requirement of 17 in every area.

Just apply. I have a few friends with similar scores who got accepted at NYU and Upenn.
Stonybrook wont be that easy but you can always apply. Your GPA is solid.
good luck

Thanks for the replies, I guess I'm just trying to decide if the taking it again and trying to get better in math and reading is worth the risk of doing lower in the chem, also going through the whole study process again.
