I've been studying for soooo long and just took the DAT today. 20 AA and 20 TS but 18 on PAT. I'm not so sure what happened :/ I was getting 20s on Bootcamp and Crack the DAT. I have a 3.83 gpa and the only school I'm able to apply to is MUSC (husband's in the Navy). I'm super bummed because I've worked so hard. Around 200 hours of shadowing, volunteer experience at a free clinic, and other volunteering in a hospital and an animal shelter. I'm going to talk to my advisor on Monday but I just wanted to hear your thoughts. I'm planning on applying this coming cycle so I can retake it and hit the cycle early.

Thanks,
Holly

You think? Even though MUSC seems to put a little higher emphasis on PAT?
Thank you 🙂.

Good scores! I would try to apply to more than one school but apart from that good job.

I wish I could but since he is stationed here for 3 more years I can't apply anywhere else. Although we do live in a area heavily populated with military families so I think they'd understand why I'm only applying to one. I think it'd be pointless to apply to a school that I have no intention on going to (although I did elect to have my scores sent to the one in my home state) what are your thoughts?

It is difficult to get into one particular school. The general advice is to apply broadly, so if getting into dental school is a priority, you should apply to more than one school.

Congratulations ZenX Holly,

Very nice scores and excellent GPA. Your GPA shows you are a very hardworking student and dental schools like to see that. I would talk to your advisor but more importantly contact MUSC or and even better make an in person visit. They will be able to best advise you on your chances of acceptance with your current stats.

Wishing you the best and I would like to say thank you to your husband for his service to our country.

Take care..Nancy
