Hello. In need of serious advice.

I received by September 8 MCAT scores back today. I am a little dissapointed.

Thinking about the exam itself... I knew CARS wasn't my strong suit and am not surprised by the score. But I am surprised about the biology score. It was nothing like the FLs where I had been scoring 129-130, and I bascically freaked out during the exam and it showed in my scores.

9/8 Scores- 511- 130/124/125/132.

What's the move? Should I re-take? Pls halp. I would like to go MD.

first, that's a good score. congrats for that 🙂

only you can really have a feel for why that one score is a bit disappointing....... no idea of your background but i will say that of the 4 sections, i would say that one is by far the hardest (i'd say magnitude of 10x). pretty sure i could do really well on the other 3 sections with an open book exam. not sure about biological section

It’s not a bad score, but the two sections you scored poorly on are CARS and Bio/Biochem, which I would argue are the most important ones. However, if you freaked out during your exam the first time, there’s no guarantee the jitters won’t get to you the next time you take it, and even if you do better, most places just average your score.

MD is definitely feasible as long as you apply widely and have a good GPA/extra curriculars. I personally wouldn’t retake.
