Should I send a correction in an e-mail for a minor typo in a resume?

I applied by e-mail for an emergency medicine scribe position offered at a local hospital in conjunction with my pre-med program. My resume included a typo: I used "a" versus "an" (I know, I know, dumb mistake, lol). I know it's very miniscule but I will go crazy unless I can fix it. Would it be proper etiquette to e-mail her and give her a "heads up" or should I just let it go?

This is why premeds are called neurotic.

I know it's anal 🙂rolleyes🙂 but if carelessness could cost me an excellent opportunity I would rather correct it if I can

Its an simple mistake and most likely will go unnoticed unless you point it out to them.

This. It probably will make it more noticeable as a flaw to them than if you just pretended it wasn't there. For little typos like that people's minds tends to see what's supposed to be there unless they look really, really hard.

I don't know about you guys, but if I read a resume and saw that someone used "a" instead of "an" I would be disgusted. What kind of person could commit such an atrocity? It tells a lot about what kind of person he is. Not only would I throw away the resume, but I would warn nearby hospitals of this grammatical perpetrator.

lol.

OP, don't worry about it. our brains like to read over grammar and spelling errors all the time. it most likely will not be noticed. just fix it for next time.

don't email them about a super-minor grammatical mistake....

First Email:
"Dear So and So,
I just wanted to apologize for leaving off one letter in a tiny word you probably didn't even notice. I hope you won't think I'll be a bad ER scribe because of this tying error. I want to reiterate that I would love this position and I think I would be a very talented scribe in a ER."

Second Thread on SDN:
"Oh no guys, I went ahead and sent that follow up email, but I realized I made the same mistake!! Now not only do they think I'm neurotic, but they'll know for sure my grammar skillz are awful!"

Like other's have said, let it go. They probably didn't even notice.

"****, I hate to say it but I forgot to put a 'p' in typing, so now not only do they recognize my atrocious grammatical abilities, but my lack of spelling a easy word."

I've made a similar mistake before, it will go unnoticed 99.6667% of the time..just take a xanax and chill
