Hey all,

So i've been working as a medical assistant since around March time. When I was applying I was working at a dermatology clinic, but I actually moved and now am working at an ortho clinic close to home. On my app i put the derm clinic as reference and all that but now i have completely other people i work with and the derm clinic might actually mention something negative if called because i did bail on them once i found this other (and better paying quality job lol).

I did interview at a med school recently. Should i send an update regarding my change in position or just leave it?

Changes in work hours or volunteer hours are not worthy of update letters. If you had a low number of hours at the time of submission, try to talk about the increased experience briefly in an interview.
As for the derm clinic's opinion about you, if you are lucky, a school won't call up that reference.
Going forward, think about how/why you left the clinic and learn from the experience. How you could have handled the situation better and in a more professional manner, without leaving them in the lurch?
