I really need your guys's advice...I just have a job at a biopharm company, its loosely research based, would it be appropriate to send medschools a letter in which i talk abt this?? how do you beging such a letter, what should i write???

I wouldn't. I don't believe it would change much as far as the Adcom goes, and it would increase the amount of paperwork in your file, thus diulting it.

I would hold off until you receive a larger amount of pertinent information, i.e. Fall grades.

Personally, I think if you really like the school then updating is always a good idea. Not just to tell them what you're currently doing (ala job, research, grades) but also to explain your continuing high level of interest in their school.

Just bumping this because I'm in a similar scenario...
At what point is it appropriate to send an update letter? I've been doing a couple of new things since I wrote AMCAS or even since I've interviewed, so I'm thinking perhaps a January update would be in order? Or is it worth even bothering with one? I don't have any new grades or publications to report...
