should I spend money on 2012 DAT destroyer

I already have the 2008 and 2009 DAT destroyer. Is it worth buying the new one or the older editions would be good enough for DAT prep.
I will be re-taking my DATfirst week of April and really want to get in any school in Texas.
Right now I have an older edition of Cliff's AP biology (2nd), alan's notes, CDP Ace edition and ExamKrackers MCAT biology.
I am planning to subscribe to CHAD's videos (ochem and gchem) and buy the 2009 ADA exam paper copy and MATH destroyer.
What else do you think I would need to to supplement my prep. I am aiming for 22+ score.
My previous DAT score was an TS 18, AA 18 and PAT 16. GPS 3.4, sGPA 3.3.

my honest opinion is not to buy the 2012 version of the DAT destroyer if u already have the 2008 and 2009. theres minor differences but not enough to cough up that extra 120. thats just my own personal opinion.
i think u just need to work on the PAT section and boost the sciences whereever u can.
as for the math destroyer, i have mine but i didnt go through it at all but feel confident with the QR section that was given in the back of the DAT destroyer and chad's math subscription.
but then again I am more of a math person, not a genius but pretty good, and got a 19 on my first exam.
These are just MY own opinions and thoughts...
Chad's gchem is extremely good and organic chem is good in terms of conceptual ideas but would use some other extra outside sources too for practice.
I'm taking my exam in less than 4 weeks and im starting to piss my pants haha...

I would watch chads videos gen chem is pretty awesome
Chad for orgo is good but I would use KBB also


I would not buy the new destroyer book it will be the same problems with a couple additional questions. What I would buy is datqvault, acheiver test, and topscore test.

My first attempt at the DAT I studied with the [then] new version of Destroyer (2010), and made a 19 on sciences. I sold all my materials thinking I'd never take it again....bad choice. Second time around I bought the very first edition of Destroyer (2005 or 2006 I think), ended up making a 24 on sciences. Chad's is more important to master the chems. I believe mastering that alone will get you a 20. Nearly every one of his quiz questions is spot on. Destroyer just gives you that extra edge to work through the tougher problems to bump you up into the mid/high 20's. That being said, in my opinion you don't need the newer version at all. I couldn't tell that much of a difference between them, and using the old version + Chad's worked for me.

Whatever you decide to do, just make sure you OWN the material. Good luck!!!!!!!

I wouldn't get the 2012... I have the 2008 and 2011 version. Yes there's a difference, but not large enough to factor into your overall score. Besides, the destroyer is really good for g.chem and o.chem, and those sections haven't changed drastically in the past. Biology on the other hand has... but that's what cliffnotes are for 🙂
