I took the MCAT and did pretty horrible, I indicated on my AMCAS that I will take it again in August. So my AMCAS is verified and everything. On top of that I applied to some schools and those schools already send me their secondaries. Should I complete my secondaries and submit to them now or should I wait until I receive my score in Sept?

assuming you're retaking because your original score was an anomaly, then yes, submit your secondary apps some time between now and September. This way, you will be marked complete once your new scores are released, Some schools will mark your file as complete but awaiting new MCAT. Either way, this is the way to go.

Waiting for your MCAT release in September and then writing/submitting your secondary will put you very far back in the process.

I would only do that if your score was out of line with your practice tests. If you consistantly got 30+ on AAMC practice tests but got a 21, then I would retake. However, if your average was a 24 and you got a 23, then I wouldn't retake so soon. I would take a gap year to study harder and make sure your application is perfect.

Besides, secondaries take a lot of time to do. You could use that time to study for the MCAT.

+1. Before yourself the time you need to do well on the test. Don't rush this
