Should I take the DAT this summer?

Hello everyone. I am pretty new to the forums and have a bit of questions.. I just finished up my sophomore year and finished taking organic chemistry. Should I take the DAT this summer? Or are you suppose to take it during the summer of your junior year...? I plan to start studying sometime next week and hopefully study a good 2 months before taking it..
So should I take it this summer or wait till next summer? Will the process of applying to dental school be the same? Also are hospital volunteer hours necessary for pre-dental students? Sorry for so many questions.. hopefully someone can answer them! 🙂

Hey I'm also a pretty new member even though I find a lot of answers here. As far as when to take it there is no certain time to take the DAT. You should have a bulk of the classes taken that are covered on the DAT in order to do well. If you decide to take it this summer let me know because I just got my test date!
