I have been placed on pre-interview holds by 3 schools and was recently interviewed and rejected from a school. One of the schools that placed me on pre-interview hold emailed me and told me they "invite me to retake the MCAT." Another school told me that my MCAT score "may not be good enough" for admission to their school. My lower stats are the reason I am being placed on hold. I am subsequently preparing for a retake in November.

Stats: c3.15 s3.09 MCAT 26

My question is: Should I email them and let them know that I am retaking, possibly preventing me from being rejected immediately, but also possibly preventing any IIs?

I swear I just saw this thread yesterday. Anyway, yes mark it so that they wait for your new MCAT scores before considering your acceptance/rejection.

Are you the same one from before that had a low GPA and 26 MCAT? You need to improve your GPA, that IS your weak point. If the schools put you on hold, they aren't rejecting you any time soon. If you were to retake and update your app, they'd probably reevaluate you anyways. If you are afraid of other schools rejecting you outright, you should indicate you are planning a retake.

If schools are willing to interview you outright, they will.
