I am contemplating taking the DAT this summer, which will be after my Sophomore year. The only prerequisites I will be lacking, at test time, are ochem 2 and biochem. Should I even bother with this, or just wait until after I have taken them?

in my opinion i would say wait until you complete orgo 2, because honestly you dont know what to expect on the test. you could either have a version with almost all ochem 1 or a version with almost all ochem 2. biochem im not really sure is too necessary for this test. ive taken cell biology so far and that has helped me a lot in studying. good luck!

It is really up to you. If you feel like you know the material then take it. It's still pretty early for you so you don't have to rush. It woulf be better to get a full understanding before taking it and not doing well.

I would say biochem will prove useful when you study for the bio section.

sure, I agree. Will help, but it is not necessary.

The thing about Ochem 2 is that you start to understand ochem. If you already understand it, then this will not be a problem.
I would say wait unless you won't be able to study for it later.
