OP seems to be a pre-med outside the USThis is a weird post as I’m pretty sure most residency programs require some sort of research to be done and it’s one of the things that gets looked at for fellowships.
I don't really know the answer but am I the only one who doesn't think it's a weird question? OP's question isn't "do they," it's "should they." Just because most programs require it doesn't mean it's right.
